Soccer Game Preview: Altamont vs. Indian Springs

The Altamont Knights will face off against the Indian Springs Student at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Altamont's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Holy Spirit Catholic with a sharp 10-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Indian Springs waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 5-1 win. Given the Student's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Wildcats are ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Altamont has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those four games. Indian Springs' victory bumped their record up to 10-2-2.
