Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Titans vs. Field Kindley Golden Tornado

The Columbus Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Field Kindley Golden Tornado at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Columbus has four straight wins, Field Kindley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Columbus' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Galena with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Titans have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Field Kindley lost 11-1 to Pittsburg on Tuesday.

Field Kindley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haydn Main, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Main's first of the season.

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Field Kindley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Columbus was able to grind out a solid victory over Field Kindley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
