Basketball Game Preview: Lakeland Lakers vs. Churubusco Eagles

The Lakeland Lakers will face off against the Churubusco Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Wawasee and fell 39-37. The contest marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Churubusco). They blew past Argos 73-49 on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Churubusco's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything came up roses for Lakeland against Churubusco when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 70-40 victory. Does Lakeland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Churubusco turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
