Softball Recap: Crossroads Takes a Loss

Crossroads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Hawthorne Cougars, falling 22-5. The Roadrunners were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Quinn Womack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Jessie Greene, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Crossroads' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hawthorne, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossroads will head out to square off against University at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hawthorne, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
