Basketball Recap: Boulder Piles Up the Points Against Brighton

Boulder waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 53-12 victory over the Brighton Bulldogs. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boulder got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Remi Kingdom out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Kingdom a new career-high in points. Megan Matthews was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

Boulder was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only posted three assists.

Boulder has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Brighton, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Boulder wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-30 victory against Northglenn on the 4th. As for Brighton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-29 defeat against Mountain Range on the 4th.
