Basketball Game Preview: Miramar Patriots vs. Central Rockets

The Miramar Patriots will face off against the Central Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Miramar has five straight victories, Central has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Miramar strolled past West Broward with points to spare, taking the game 68-53.

Meanwhile, Central played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-31 defeat at the hands of Somerset Academy (Silver Palms). The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

Miramar will need to focus on slowing down Robert Kramer, one of several Central players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marvel Burgess, who earned two points and 12 boards.

Miramar's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Miramar skirted past Central 70-68 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Rockets' Keri Foster, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be easier for the Patriots to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
