Volleyball Recap: Coldwater Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Coldwater faced off against Pennfield on Saturday. The Coldwater Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Pennfield Panthers. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on October 2nd.

Coldwater was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Pennfield work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-13.

Mya Porter paced Coldwater's offense, picking up six kills. Porter got some help from Ellianna Foley and her four assists. Brooklyn Closson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Coldwater and nudges their season record down to 22-10-3. As for Pennfield, the win got them back to even at 20-20-2.

Coldwater has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Northwest on the 26th. As for Pennfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Marshall on the 26th.
