Volleyball Recap: Dracut Middies vs. Academy of Notre Dame Lancers
There's no place like home for Dracut, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Academy of Notre Dame Lancers on Monday as the Dracut Middies made off with a 3-0 win. The Middies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.
One reason for the win was Dracut's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 25-16.
Among those leading the charge was Brooke Barry, who had seven aces and three digs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in aces.
Dracut's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Academy of Notre Dame, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dracut will face off against Lowell at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Academy of Notre Dame, they and Northeast Metro RVT are set to duel on Wednesday.
