After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glenwood, Normal Community was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Normal University Pioneers by a score of 6-2. For the Ironmen, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 victory the Pioneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
Ava Prevo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Engel, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
