Hampton has gone 10-0 against Johnson County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Hampton Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Johnson County Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. Hampton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Hampton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to University School. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chase Davenport, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Fagan, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Johnson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 77-52 loss courtesy of Elizabethton. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Fighting Cyclones are ranked 116th).

Johnson County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hampton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything came up roses for Hampton against Johnson County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured an 82-52 victory. Does Hampton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Johnson County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
