Basketball Recap: Arvada Takes a Loss

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Arvada was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They were beaten by the Bennett Tigers 50-8. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Amiah Picaso was Arvada's leading scorer, having posted three points.

It was another big night for Jessica Venneberg, who went 8-for-20 on her way to 21 points and five assists for Bennett. Venneberg is becoming a predictor of Bennett's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 9-3 (and 1-3 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Maddison Hawkins, who posted four points and five steals.

Arvada now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Bennett, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Arvada has already played their next contest, a 43-21 win against Englewood on the 6th. As for Bennett, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-31 victory against Platte Canyon on the 6th.
