Basketball Game Preview: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Greeley Central Wildcats

The Thompson Valley Eagles will square off against the Greeley Central Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Thompson Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to Northridge.

Meanwhile, Greeley Central came up short against Timnath on Friday and fell 51-42. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Cubs are ranked 48th).

Thompson Valley dropped their record down to 12-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Greeley Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Thompson Valley beat Greeley Central 41-34 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Thompson Valley repeat their success, or does Greeley Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
