            The Bishop Verot Vikings will head out to  square off against the Palmetto Panthers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bishop Verot was handed a heart-breaking two-point  loss in their last  contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gulf Coast  last Friday. The Vikings simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Sharks 42-0. The Vikings have beaten the Sharks the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Sharks has come to flipping the script.

It was another big night for  Deshon Jenkins Jr, who rushed for 145 yards and three  TDs on only six carries. That's the most  rushing touchdowns  he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ayden Gonzalez, who gained 99 total yards.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop Verot was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 238  rushing yards. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop Verot's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was  Kymani Nicholas with  two. He also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with six.
 Palmetto never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Miami on Friday. They claimed a resounding  43-7 win over the Stingarees. Given the Panthers' advantage  in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Stingarees are ranked 472nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Palmetto's record now sits at 7-2. As for Bishop Verot,  the  victory  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Bishop Verot didn't have too much breathing room in their  game against Palmetto  when the teams last played  back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with  a  19-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
