Wausau West won the last time they faced Merrill and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wausau West Warriors blew past the Merrill Bluejays 60-32. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Warriors just coasted through the last quarter.

Wausau West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bennett Matteson, who went 9-for-10 to rack up 17 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds Matteson has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kargie Cooper, who shot 47% from the field en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Wausau West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Wausau West is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points over those games. Merrill is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
