Football Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

If Atkins was feeling good fresh off their 42-7 takedown of Yellville-Summit last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Devils came up short against the Mayflower Eagles on Thursday, falling 27-6. The Red Devils were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the three matchups prior), but the Eagles' defense proved too tough.

Atkins moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Mayflower, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
