Basketball Game Preview: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. West Trojans

The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the West Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Scurry-Rosser, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Scurry-Rosser faced off against Blooming Grove on Tuesday. Scurry-Rosser simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Blooming Grove 87-35. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

West has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Troy.

Scurry-Rosser will need to focus on slowing down Easton Rinewalt, one of several West players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ayden Poteet, who earned eight points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Scurry-Rosser pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Scurry-Rosser strolled past West in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-37. Will Scurry-Rosser repeat their success, or does West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
