Football Recap: Tonasket Comes Up Short

Tonasket was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 37-30 to the Brewster Bears. The Tigers were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Loss or not, Tonasket got some senior leadership from Tanner Tompkins and Kevin Polito. Tompkins picked up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Polito rushed for 98 yards and a pair of TDs. Tompkins didn't just play on offense: he also made ten total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Tonasket's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brewster, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Tonasket will head out to face off against Cascade at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brewster, they will welcome Omak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
