Baseball Recap: East Iberville Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for East Iberville's offense. They came up short against the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs on Friday, falling 12-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

East Iberville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chene Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

East Iberville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Ascension Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Iberville will head out to square off against Ville Platte at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Ascension Catholic, they are taking a road trip to take on University Lab at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.7, the Cubs 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
