Baseball Game Preview: J.P. Stevens Hawks vs. South River Rams

The J.P. Stevens Hawks will face off against the South River Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. J.P. Stevens is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Thursday, J.P. Stevens came up short against North Plainfield and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South River). They blew past Piscataway Vo-Tech 19-1 on Saturday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Noah Borero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, South River got a massive performance out of Jimmy Sanchez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Julien Borusovic was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

South River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

J.P. Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for South River, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
