Swansboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-52 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle.

Swansboro can attribute much of their success to Fletcher Panos, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 18 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Panos a new career-high in boards (three). Connor May was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Swansboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Ashley's also-impressive total of ten.

Ashley's loss came despite strong showings from Finley Tollens and Keyon Jones. Tollens went 6-for-12 on his way to 13 points along with seven boards and four blocks, while Jones almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Braden Chase, who posted 13 points.

Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
