Softball Recap: Medina Gets the Win

Medina extended their postseason success on Thursday against Spurger. They won by a run and slipped past the Pirates 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Hallie Kunz, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Garcia, who earned one run and four stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Medina kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.

Medina's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Spurger, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1.

Medina will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
