Softball Game Preview: Dickinson Gators vs. Clear Springs Chargers

Dickinson is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Clear Springs a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Dickinson Gators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clear Springs Chargers at 6:45 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Dickinson's offense. They fell 4-0 to Brazoswood on Tuesday. Considering the last time the Gators couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Bailey Barber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Clear Springs beat Clear Falls 6-3 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Eryn Polite, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynley Colianni, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Clear Springs has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Dickinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.
