Basketball Recap: Bridgeport Bulldogs vs. Bellaire Big Reds
If Bridgeport was riding high fresh off their 73-31 takedown of Beallsville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bridgeport Bulldogs fell just short of the Bellaire Big Reds by a score of 69-67 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Big Reds recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Bridgeport saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaleel Vincent went 8 of 15 en route to 26 points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Vincent a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Jackson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and seven boards.
Bellaire found their leader in sophomore Raekwon Pettigrew, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 boards. Caleb Jewell was another key player, putting up 17 points and three steals.
Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bellaire, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Bridgeport will challenge Catholic Central at 7:30 p.m. on December 10th. As for Bellaire, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-46 loss against Union Local on the 6th.
