League recap: Olathe scores huge upset over Aspen

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Olathe, who defeated 117th ranked Aspen, 28-17.

Pagosa Springs took down Coal Ridge 47-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Keenan Early ran for 248 yards during the win.

Fields Brady was a key player and the best on defense this week as Bayfield defeated Grand Valley. The 5-foot-11 junior grabbed 2.0 sacks.

Early was a passing and rushing force as the Pirates bested the Titans. Early's key target this week was Connor Brown, who caught 3 passes for 98 yards.

Early was a beast in the backfield as Pagosa Springs defeated Coal Ridge.

Brown was the best receiver in 2A Western this week as Scott Spoede's team defeated Kyle Sager's team. Brown racked up 3 receptions for 98 yards.

The Cardinals' Tyler Scott and Ivan Arizaga have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 814 yards this season, while Arizaga, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 21 catches for 371 yards. Ryan Fitzgerald from the Skiers leads the league in rushing with 700 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Grand Valley's Arizaga goes up against the Pirates' Marcos Quezada.

Next week's game between Mike Johnson's team and Pagosa Springs will feature an aerial matchup as Scott tests his arm against Quezada's defensive ability.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Gunnison takes on Aspen. As it stands, the Cowboys are in second, while Mike Sirko's team is in fourth.
