Softball Game Preview: Oswayo Valley Green Wave vs. Port Allegany Gators

The Oswayo Valley Green Wave will head out to challenge the Port Allegany Gators at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Port Allegany took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oswayo Valley, who comes in off a win.

Oswayo Valley will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Galeton last Monday. The Green Wave were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Port Allegany lost 18-3 to Johnsonburg on Wednesday. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Port Allegany saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynn Evens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run. Alayna McKervey also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Oswayo Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Port Allegany, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Oswayo Valley might still be hurting after the 24-11 defeat they got from Port Allegany in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Green Wave avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
