Warde faced Ludlowe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Warde wouldn't go down easily and took Ludlowe into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 25-13, 15-11.

Warde's offense was headlined by Ava Feay and Ivy Feay, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Laila Henry and her 35 assists. Finally, Maddie Weisberg kept Warde's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Warde's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Ludlowe, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.
