Basketball Recap: East's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Beechcroft came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against East, but Kaliyah Barron wouldn't allow it. The East Tigers came out on top against the Beechcroft Cougars by a score of 49-38 on Tuesday thanks in part to Barron, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of East's points.

Despite the loss, Beechcroft still got an impressive performance from Sha?Mya Dukes, who posted 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Dukes a new career-high in blocks (two).

East moved to 3-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Beechcroft, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 41-39 defeat against Northland on the 31st. Beechcroft has also already played their next contest, a 64-45 loss against Columbus International on the 31st.
