Baseball Game Preview: Hugo Buffaloes vs. Valliant Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Hugo will face off against Valliant. The Buffaloes will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hugo is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Hugo came up short against Valliant on Monday, falling 11-3.

Jayka Santillan was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hugo is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-15 otherwise. Santillan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Santillan wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maliki Gillean, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Valliant pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hugo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
