Baseball Recap: Chenango Valley Has No Trouble Against Chenango Forks

Chenango Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Chenango Forks Blue Devils. That looming 5-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Cole Trebilcock was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Trebilcock wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Gianisis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Gianisis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Shea McKeon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Chenango Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chenango Forks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Chenango Valley and Chenango Forks will both be playing Waverly the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Blue Devils will host them at 5:00 p.m. on the 21st.
