Football Recap: Islands Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Islands extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Jenkins Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Warriors are ranked 56th).

As for Jenkins, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.2 points.

Dominique Johnson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 109 yards and three scores on only five carries, while also catching one TD. Those 109 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Islands will head out on the road to take on Long County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jenkins, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Atomsmashers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
