Pinelands Regional strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 12, 2017.

Elianna Meola made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She also allowed four hits, marking her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meola wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cali Peterka, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That run was Peterka's first of the season. Jozlyn Peterson was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Pinelands Regional pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Point Pleasant Boro, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Pinelands Regional and Point Pleasant Boro should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Wildcats will take on Toms River North at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 208). Meanwhile, Point Pleasant Boro (ranked 21st) will meet Toms River East (ranked 160th) at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
