Softball Preview: Rowe Warriors vs. Vela Sabercats
The Rowe Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Vela Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rowe is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Rowe suffered a tough 17-2 loss at the hands of Pioneer.
Rowe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma De la cruz, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Vela came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for Vela, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Vela let Elizabeth Morales and Gloria Salinas loose on the outfield. Morales went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and an RBI, while Salinas went 2-for-3 with four RBI, a stolen base, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Cantu, who scored two runs and stole a base.
