Basketball Recap: Valley Torah Takes a Loss

If Valley Torah was feeling good fresh off their 76-54 takedown of Canoga Park last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valley Torah Wolfpack had to suffer through a 85-54 loss at the hands of the Vasquez Mustangs. The contest marked the Wolfpack's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Vasquez got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Parker out in front who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Parker's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rowley, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

Valley Torah's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. As for Vasquez, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Torah won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Santa Clarita Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Clarita Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Valley Torah likes a good challenge. As for Vasquez, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vasquez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.7 points per game this season.
