Recap: Shelby County Wildcats vs. Rehobeth Rebels
The Shelby County Wildcats were the 38-31 winner over the Rehobeth Rebels when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Shelby County suffered a tough 40-14 defeat at the hands of Rehobeth on Friday. While losing is never fun, Shelby County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Rehobeth is ranked 121st).
Brayden Hardy was a one-man wrecking crew for Rehobeth as he rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Hardy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tevin James, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Shelby County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which lines up perfectly with their 2-8 record this season. As for Rehobeth, their win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 6-4.
Shelby County will square off against Woodlawn at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rehobeth, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Long.
