Baseball Recap: Airport Finds Playoff Glory Versus May River

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Airport had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the May River Sharks 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Braden Gross, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Daniel Butts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Airport hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Airport's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for May River, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-9.

Airport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. May River has already played their next contest (against Gray Collegiate Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
