It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lewis County had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They managed a 62-57 victory over the East Fairmont Bees. Winning may never get old, but Lewis County sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Lewis County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payten Goodwin led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Ella Pinkney was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tarayn Myers, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenly Rogers, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, East Fairmont was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis County only racked up seven.

Lewis County's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for East Fairmont, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 25-1.

Lewis County is on the road again on Saturday to play Nitro at 10:00 a.m. Nitro will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Lewis County surely won't give up without a fight. East Fairmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
