Volleyball Recap: Twin Lakes Indians vs. North Newton Spartans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Lafayette, Twin Lakes was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the North Newton Spartans. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Twin Lakes was staring down a 1-0 deficit headed into the second set, but they rallied to take the next three for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.
Twin Lakes was led to victory by Addie Bowsman and Cara Turner. Bowsman had 21 digs, while Turner had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Turner has posted since back in September of 2023.
Twin Lakes' victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for North Newton, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Lakes will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Logansport at 7:00 p.m. As for North Newton, they will head out to square off against Kankakee Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Kankakee Valley will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something North Newton surely won't give up without a fight.
