Basketball Recap: Velva's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

After losing to Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood the last time they met, Velva decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Velva Aggies slipped by the Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks 66-65 on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Aggies, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

Velva's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.5 points. As for Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1.

Velva will take on Westhope/Newburg at 7:16 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Velva's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Glenburn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Glenburn likes a good challenge.
