Baseball Recap: South Hagerstown Comes Up Short

South Hagerstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Williamsport Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Tyson Mangold was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Derek Kline made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

South Hagerstown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Williamsport, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
