Basketball Recap: Weld Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brayden Moser and Logan Pevler

Weld Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-14. They took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-72 back in January.

Weld Central's loss came despite strong showings from Logan Pevler and Brayden Moser. Pevler dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards, while Moser went 6-for-13 to rack up 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ricky Smith was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

As for Sterling, their win bumped their record up to 7-9. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Kayden Eastin was the offensive standout of the contest as he shot 50% from the field en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. Those 50% shooting accuracy gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayten Diorio, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Weld Central has already played their next matchup, a 60-55 defeat against Valley on the 5th. As for Sterling, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-40 loss against Eaton on the 5th.
