Basketball Game Preview: Niceville Eagles vs. South Walton Seahawks

The Niceville Eagles will face off against the South Walton Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Monday, Niceville earned a 50-37 victory over Pace. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Patriots are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Carson Fayard, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Niceville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyn Fowler, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, South Walton was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Walton 62-32. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Niceville pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for South Walton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Niceville barely slipped by South Walton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 65-64. Will Niceville repeat their success, or does South Walton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
