Basketball Recap: Jackson Vikings vs. Ypsilanti Grizzlies
The Jackson Vikings came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Ypsilanti 61-41. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Grizzlies are ranked 401st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Koronnis Davis had a dynamite game for Jackson, scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyron Stamper, who scored 12 points.
Jackson's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Ypsilanti, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ypsilanti, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
