Basketball Recap: Calaveras Extends Winning Streak to Four

Calaveras had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-44 W against the Summerville Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-51 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calaveras to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cohen Curran, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Ryan Clifton was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Calaveras' victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Summerville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Calaveras will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Linden at 7:15 p.m. Linden has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Summerville, they will head out to take on Big Valley Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
