Recap: Southwest DeKalb Panthers vs. Griffin Bears
While the Southwest DeKalb Panthers's victory against the Griffin Bears wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Southwest DeKalb had just enough and edged Griffin out 48-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Southwest DeKalb.
Southwest DeKalb's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Ushery, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Messiah Mergan, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Southwest DeKalb has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Griffin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Southwest DeKalb will head out on the road to challenge Westminster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Griffin will take on Howard at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Howard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Griffin is ranked 189th).
