Lakeland is a perfect 4-0 against Lackawanna Trail since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chiefs will head out to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Lakeland has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 31.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lakeland and Western Wayne, and Western Wayne kept the tradition alive. The Chiefs took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Lakeland got a good showing from Dylan Loomis, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Lakeland saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Magnot, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Jacob Begin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Lackawanna Trail didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain View on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The Lions have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Lackawanna Trail also got a good showing from Michael Palmer, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lackawanna Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lakeland beat Lackawanna Trail 12-8 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
