Softball Recap: Union Pines Vikings vs. Southern Alamance Patriots
Union Pines was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southern Alamance Patriots, sneaking past 4-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.
Serena McCutchen and Kileigh Cameron did most of the damage at the plate: McCutchen scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Cameron went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave McCutchen a new career-high.
