Volleyball Recap: Klein Bearkats vs. Magnolia Bulldogs
Klein was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Magnolia Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bearkats of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
While Klein had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 15-25, 25-23.
Their offense was headlined by
Allie Lindsey and
Jaicee Smith, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from
Mariah Brown and her 20 assists.
Asha King controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Magnolia was led to victory by Mallie Kitchens and Sophie Gomez. Kitchens had 15 digs and two aces, while Gomez had six digs. Kitchens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last four games she's played.
Klein's loss dropped their record down to 16-24. As for Magnolia, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-15 record.
As of now, neither Klein nor Magnolia have any future games scheduled.
