Baseball Game Preview: Ansonia Tigers vs. Twin Valley South Panthers

The Ansonia Tigers will head out to face off against the Twin Valley South Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ansonia's last matchup with New Bremen could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 6-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Ansonia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cainan Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Asher Shives also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Twin Valley South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-5 to Stebbins, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Twin Valley South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Ansonia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Ansonia beat Twin Valley South 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
