Basketball Recap: Concordia Comes Up Short

Concordia was the 46-44 winner over Santa Fe when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Concordia Fighting Orioles lost to the Santa Fe Chiefs at home by a 51-32 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Fighting Orioles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Santa Fe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia Lark out in front who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. Lark is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Michael, who posted 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Concordia's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Santa Fe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Concordia and Santa Fe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Concordia will challenge Norborne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday up 280 places (219 vs. 499). Meanwhile, Santa Fe (ranked 185th) will meet Bunceton (ranked 430th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
