Volleyball Recap: Rock Island Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rock Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Quincy Blue Devils. The Rocks were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Rock Island started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-11, 25-15.

Quincy was led to victory by Leah Knudson and Kennedy Geiselman. Knudson had 15 digs and one assist, while Geiselman had 14 assists. Those 15 digs gave Knudson a new career-high.

Rock Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Quincy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Rock Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Nashville on the 5th. As for Quincy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Geneseo on the 9th.
